This post has been inspired by a discussion spawned from a thread on Vanilla Community, about the topic of business models for the products created by Developers. Very briefly, one of the key points was the comparison between a purely commercial model, where (almost) everything that one creates is sold for cold, hard cash, versus […]

Experienced IT Professional, I created my first "widespread" software in 1993, using good old Assembly 80x86 and The Programmer's Bible by P.Norton. It was an innocuous virus, which didn't do anything but replicating itself. I risked being kicked out of school, which some may think is "cool", but, at the time, it wasn't. So, I had to put out the "coder fire" in me until after school, and I "officially" started my career as a Software Developer in 1997.
Much time has passed since then, and, in all those years, I worked in most of the roles you can find in IT, and learned more than I could have possibly imagined. Yet, I still find myself discovering new things every single day, thanks to the collective knowledge provided by Internet and the countless Communities around there.
Although I already participate to several of such Communities, I decided to start this blog as an attempt to gather in one place all my thoughts related to the world of Software Development and IT in general.
Welcome aboard, I hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Having been worked with countless technologies , frameworks and 3rd party libraries, I can say that I have seen almost every possible way of organising the code for a project. From the approach of putting every file in a single folder “just for now” (where “now” becomes “forever”, because moving things around is just too […]
The inspiration for this post came to me while reading a few invitations I received from some of the “modern contracting” websites. I’d like to thank them for giving me a chance of some good bashing, but I won’t write their names here as they don’t deserve free advertisement. A bit of background I registered […]
