What Wholesale Suite does

Customers tagged as wholesale see their tier’s price; everyone else sees the retail price. Wholesale Prices Premium adds tiered minimum-quantity discounts, per-customer pricing, per-role shipping and payment-method routing, and tax-exemption rules per role. Where Wholesale Suite falls short on international stores

Wholesale Suite treats the store as a single-currency operation. Roles and tiers are configured against the WooCommerce base currency. Per-customer overrides are entered in the base currency. The order form and the lead-capture flow assume one set of price labels per SKU.

That is fine for a wholesaler operating in one country. It starts to break the day a B2B buyer in a different currency zone logs in. The wholesale price shows in the customer’s local currency only if a multi-currency layer converts it; without one, the customer sees a number in a currency they do not buy in, and a percentage of those carts go cold. Worse, the tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive treatment can flip when the store base country differs from the buyer’s country, so a German VAT-registered buyer can see a UK gross price when they expected a net price. The plugin itself does not detect the buyer’s country, and it does not route the gateway to a regional PayPal account when the currency changes.

The Currency Switcher is the layer Wholesale Suite leans on for every multi-currency request. Once installed, the suite’s wholesale prices, minimum-quantity tiers and per-customer overrides all run through the Currency Switcher’s pricing API, so a buyer who selects EUR sees the EUR wholesale price, completes checkout in EUR, and the order is recorded in EUR for the books. Two configuration paths are available: let the Currency Switcher convert the base wholesale price using a live exchange-rate feed (Open Exchange Rates, OFX, Turkish Central Bank), or set the wholesale price per product per currency explicitly, so a £10 UK wholesale price can be sold for €13 in the EU and $14 in the US without depending on the rate of the day. Aelia Prices by Country

Wholesale Suite handles the role tier. Prices by Country is built to handle a regional override on top: if your German distributor pays €13, your Italian distributor pays €12.50, and your Spanish distributor pays €13.20, that pattern is country logic, not currency logic, and the Currency Switcher alone will not produce it. Prices by Country reads the buyer’s geolocation, looks up the regional zone you configured, and substitutes the regional price before the cart loads. The intended pattern is that the three run in series: Prices by Country selects the number for the country, the Currency Switcher converts and displays it, Wholesale Suite enforces the role tier and minimum-quantity rule. Aelia Tax Display by Country

B2B almost always means tax-exclusive prices to VAT-registered buyers and tax-inclusive prices to everyone else, depending on country. Wholesale Suite Premium’s per-role tax-exemption rule covers the role half of that decision. Tax Display by Country covers the country half: it detects the buyer’s country by geolocation and switches the displayed price between gross and net per the rules you configure. Install in this order. The order matters because Aelia Foundation Classes (AFC) is the shared framework all premium Aelia plugins load against.

1. Install and activate the free Aelia Foundation Classes (AFC) plugin.
2. Install Aelia Currency Switcher. Configure the base currency before adding products. Decide between automatic exchange rates (Open Exchange Rates, OFX, Turkish Central Bank) or manual per-product pricing per currency.
3. Install Wholesale Suite (base + Premium). Define wholesale roles and base-currency wholesale prices. Confirm the per-role tax-exemption setting matches the buyer profile you expect.
4. (Optional) Install Aelia Prices by Country. Configure regional zones, then assign per-region wholesale prices to the products that need country overrides.
5. (Optional) Install Aelia Tax Display by Country. Set tax-display rules per country, in agreement with the Wholesale Suite per-role tax-exemption rule.
6. (Optional) Install Aelia PayPal Multi-Account. Add the PayPal account details for each currency.

Two settings to watch. First, do not enable a second multi-currency plugin alongside the Aelia Currency Switcher. Wholesale Suite does not need one, and a duplicate currency layer will convert prices twice or fight the conversion at checkout. Second, the Wholesale Suite per-customer override is entered in the base currency. The Currency Switcher converts it on display, the override does not need to be re-entered per currency unless you specifically want a fixed price in that currency.

For tier-level pricing in each currency (rather than converted-on-the-fly pricing), use the Currency Switcher’s per-product pricing fields directly on the product page. That gives the wholesale tier a hard-coded number per currency, ignoring the live rate.

FAQ

Does Wholesale Suite work with multi-currency out of the box?

It works with multi-currency through the Aelia Currency Switcher integration, which the Wholesale Suite authors (Rymera Web) added in October 2019 and maintain on their end. Without the Currency Switcher (or another multi-currency plugin), Wholesale Suite operates against the WooCommerce base currency only.

Do I need a free integration addon?

No. The integration is built into Wholesale Suite by Rymera Web. Install the Aelia Currency Switcher and Wholesale Suite side by side, and the wholesale prices, tier rules and per-customer overrides run through the Currency Switcher’s pricing API automatically.

What happens to taxes when the currency changes?

The currency swap by itself does not change the tax treatment. The country swap does. Wholesale Suite Premium’s per-role tax-exemption setting handles the role-level decision (B2B buyer with a valid VAT number, retail buyer without). Aelia Tax Display by Country handles the country-level decision (display gross to one country, net to another). Run them together so the role and the country agree on what number the buyer sees.

Can I set different prices per country, not just converted prices?

Will this protect me from fake wholesale registrations or fraud orders?

Wholesale Suite’s lead-capture flow is gated by manual approval, which already filters most of the noise.
